I’m giving you my secrets to a successful *modern* marketing plan (and a sample plan to follow too)!
The first secret is this: Create a marketing SYSTEM.
Because a successful marketing plan can’t have dead ends.
Dead ends look like:
-my plan is to post 5 times per week
-my plan is to get to 2,000 followers
-my plan is to get 5 cold leads from social media
But why? And how? And THEN WHAT?
The definition of system is: a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done; an organized framework or method.
The second secret is: Shift your goals into ACTIONS and focus on those (don’t worry, I’ll get to your sample method in a sec).
Letβs say your goal is to get 10 more referrals from your sphere this year and you want to use social media to do that.
Instead of focusing on that end goal and haphazardly posting without a true plan, letβs instead build you a marketing system for social media that will allow you to be consistent, attract, nurture and ultimately convert.
Three-time Super Bowl winner Bill Walsh said, βThe score takes care of itself. You just have to focus on the game.”
Instead of focusing on the number of followers, likes, and the end goal, focus on the action steps!
Try this:
-Break your actions down by the week
-Keep it simple
-Keep it doable (what can you be consistent with?)
-Reward yourself for getting it done
Now for your Marketing System: A cliff notes version
*This is just a sample plan and could be mixed up a million different ways*
π² 3 social media posts per week (you can mix up the style of posts, test to see what your followers seem to like more, what you can handle, etc).
Once youβve established what you can be consistent with and what your followers like, dive deeper into that style of content (ie: 3 face to cam reels per week, 2 carousels and 1 reel, 1 face to cam reel and 2 static posts, etc).
π‘ Mix up post categories to show up as the expert AND friend – here are some we recommend (real estate education <ie: 2023 sellers>, local, behind the scenes of real estate, personal, all things home)
π¬ Daily Stories (1 day in the life per week, 1 Q&A sticker per week, 1 poll per week)
π 1-2 Free Resources available to followers in exchange for their email – with the goal of growing your database and future client pipeline
I recommend one free resource designed for your target client (ie: Home Seller Bootcamp) and one free resource designed to expand your database (not exclusive to someone buying or selling NOW, ie: 12 month homeowner checklist or a local guide like this from Modern Agent Social Club Β©)
π§ 1 monthly email to send to your database to stay top of mind (I recommend mixing in the same categories I mentioned above)
REPEAT MONTHLY
Let’s review: Your actions are:
-To commit to your 3 specific posts
-To commit to your daily story
-To send one monthly email
-To weave in the free resource within those pieces of content
This is how you go from “just posting content” to:
-Becoming memorable (through your consistent content, your social media will evolve into a true personal brand)
-Having more conversations (from your daily stories)
-Going beyond social media (the goal is to get them on your email list through your free resources so you can serve them further)
-Getting more referrals (your consistent posting and email nurture will help you stay top of mind with your sphere which ultimately results in more referrals
