“You need systems in your business!”

You probably hear it every day while you’re scrolling through reels (or TikTok!) Well I’m not usually one to “harp on” things like this but here I am, to hammer home that same concept!

So, I’ll say it one more time, just for you. You need systems in your business!

Picture this: you get a text from a prospective client.

Them: “Hey, I want to start looking at houses! Can you set up a showing for tomorrow?”

An agent’s response (and the outcome of their potential relationship) will vary greatly depending on whether or not you have systems in place! Here are two potential outcomes:

Response from Agent 1 (without systems): “Yeah sure, let’s go!”

Response from Agent 2 (with systems): “Hey, I would love to help you out! Can you send me your email address? I’ll send you information about getting pre-approved through my preferred mortgage lender to kick-off the process.”

The difference speaks for itself. One agent is at the mercy of the situation, not in control because they didn’t ask the right questions.

The other agent is confident, in control of the situation and is properly helping their client navigate their home search. Which would you rather be? (Obviously Agent 2, the one with systems in place!)

Now this is a very basic scenario, and I trust you wouldn’t be like Agent 1 who was willing to let any ol’ person go look at houses on a whim. But there are unique situations that come up in our jobs. Having a systems set up for each of them from the start is important.

Systems in your business help you and your client. They keep you organized, deliver clear communication, and set respectable boundaries. They also help your client understand the logical steps in the process.
